my man! Seeing this in person was a totally different, but good, experience.
Ever considered putting up just the line work afterwards?

deathink responds:

I'm not sure if the line art is appropriate for the art portal or not, but i do make news posts featuring the line art sometimes; I might upload the line art of this in a couple weeks.

I like how well you blended it, but still got the texture to show.
Nice job!

It takes time and skill to make something awesome! :)

Awesome job! Great detail and lighting!

beekart responds:

Thank you very much :)

This is a great digital painting. Nice show of detail and softness. Great values. Although the cropping is too tight in with it so close to his lips.
What was the photo you painted this from? It's odd that you'd claim copyright on the painting, but not credit the photo it was painted from.

rainwalker007 responds:

The original photo was cropped.. I didnt mean it to be like a final painting im gona sell or anything i was just mourning his passing in my own way while listening to his music. I found it on pinterest. and you know how it is there. I kept following the original source and it went from one pin to another to finally a website for celebrity photos. And even that website wasnt the owner of the photo.

So i googled it and i found no trace of the original owner of the photo. Thats always the case of celebrity photos you cant tell the source anymore. It might be from a photo shoot or an interview i honestly tried to find it and i couldnt. But if you can find the source or know who it is i will gladly add it to the description as i usually do on facebook or DA. Specially when i use a photo from a known photographer.

In case of oil paintings i uploaded i contacted the photographers for their written permission to paint their photos. So there wont be any copyright issues.

Hope that explained why :)

Illustrator? Love the cleanliness and coloring.

Valashi responds:

Actually it's Manga Studio 5. Thank you very much though!

Wicked. Great sense of atmosphere and size.

cheers man

Jesus fuck dude! Always delivering on robot day. Love it!
Love the rim lighting all over the top but is kinda lacking on the legs from the background light. That's the only minor thing. Jumps out at me.

deathink responds:

I was most disappointed by that too. I did have a few more things planned for the bottom, but I wanted to kinda keep it simple to draw the attention upward.

This is a cool composition. very dynamic. Although there doesn't seem to be much attention to detail and focal point. When I zoom in, I can see that many areas like the wings for example, are quickly drawn as if they are sketched in. I think you should put another couple days into this and really push the character's design. Overall rendering of the image would help too.
Good luck!

meltyimp responds:

Eeeee thanks for your pointers and advice!! I think that I end up trying to rush things so I have a finished product sooner rather than later which is a really bad habit. But literally, thank you!! I'll be keeping this in mind for my next illustrations as well. c:

Colors are and shading is nice, but the muscle anatomy doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If you're going to paint a semi-nude figure in such a pose, getting the anatomy down is half the work.

yeah its cool how practice works. Can't get better until I try it. Lmao life is weird though idk
