Wawaweewah!

You have really great melodies. Really creative with the synth samples. Are you using Massive?
I think the side chain and the gating effects are a nice touch. and when you have the cutoff really low that's a cool effect too =]

That crash for the breakdown should have been extended. Try it with a long downsweep.

GrantBowtie responds:

Thanks :) I'm so glad you liked it. I agree I should have used a downsweep. And yes I'm using massive

Crazy

It coud sound better if he reese bass was cut more =]
But still cool frum samples and effects =]

Jassummisko responds:

what do you mean by "cut more"?

So far so good =]

I really like that pluck, its so chill.

I think that is probably the best part so far.
if anything work on the structure a little bit more. Try having the sub bass come in BEFORE the drum pattern.

Also shoot for more realistic drums. Look for a snare sound and a realistic kickdrum, instead of just a "Techno Kick."
That way it will fit more----i think so----
The sample you use now for the kick is a little bit too loud and is hard on the ears, breaking the chillout effect =P

But overall, pretty chill track. Looking forward to more versions.

P.S. This deserves a much better then a 2.5/5. I will make sure to come back a boost that for ya =]

GuXik responds:

Thanks for the feedback!
I already got a version 2 upcomming with some major changes :D
Unfortunate that i didint saw your review before that but i will try your ideas in version 3.

The low point is because of people 0 bombing it but i appreciate the boost :)

your awesome!

With the pianos!

I always love playing around with pianos and messing around with melodies =]
This one you got here is really good, love it!
It is nice and upbeat, and the claps/snares work well with it. I love the different instruments at 01:11-----WOW amazing cowbell, triangle, and i don't even know!

Great song, great variety. You use a lot of new instruments in here i never hear =]

The trumpets sound a bit too loud, if the volume on them was turned down more, they would feel more part of the other sounds instead of a lead...

Bristlestorm responds:

Thanks for the helpful review! You may be right about the trumpet...seems like the vocals in some of the popular music are really out there, and I guess I thought the trumpet sort of served the same purpose here. Maybe a more expensive trumpet sound/instrument would have helped...

Amazing tune!

You have to make more like this, it has endless uses!
I will use it next time i make a movie or a shirt flash!

Dude this is really amazing, I didn't know you where so good, shit I guess I better study up on my fans. Hahaha, I'm buggin out right now man, this is so good!

It's super chill, and super relaxed -love it. Great control of effects, panning, percussion, and sub bass.

-How did you get the effect of "fingers sliding on the guitar strings"? Did you record that yourself? or is that sample?

This is just too sick for words man, im not gonna continue...it would be pointless.
Take this sudden end as a sign of leaving me speechless...

Stavier responds:

Ahh, this old song :) The guitar was actually sampling & for some reason, since I didn't have as much experience, the drums were a little choppy, but I was totally toying around with this song, it came out good, but I don't have the file :/ Thanx for the review!!!

P.S.-If you liked this, I actually made a beat called Walkin' Towards Some Love & it's somewhat similiar, but I think Imma try one more "Walkin' Towards Some" song. Imma try to get it similiar like this

Awesome!

Makes me think of the Boondocks for some reason, haha!
The intro is nice, it grabs my attention right away. The sample used is nice too it helps it. It does have that cheery feel to it with the bells and pikes. I really like it =]

I guess the reason it reminds me of the Boondocks is the bass that goes, "Bum Ba-bum, Ba-bum, Ba-bum" That's a nice little intro effect.
The intro is so full with sounds and instruments that at 0:30-1:05 it feels empty compared to it, I understand that a break. If indeed it is a short break, that would be a great opportunity to get creative with some light percussion's =]

Overall I really love the power behind this track. Very inspiring!
Happy and upbeat, the mastering is great, the samples are new and fresh, and the outro is so simple and quiet i love it!
Great track man!

P.S. Keep me updated man, yous music is awesome!

Stavier responds:

Haa thanx man. For a sec I got scared cuz I was like OMG the score went down, he must have some kinda super critique, but I noticed it had 7 votes earlier and yours mustve raised it up and some lame 0 bomber drop the bomb on it. I'm glad you liked the intro, I tried with somethin' simple, but immediate. Yeah, that that Bum Ba-bum part is why I thought of it too. I was like "I'll just use that" lolz. The reason it probably feels empty is because for the intro, I had an instrument I never used again, which was the Tremelo strings, so good observation there. Agreed, I probably could've done somethin' more with the drums. Upbeat is what I was goin' for too :D I worked hard on the mastering, mainly for the kick cuz it was kinda hard, glad you liked my instrumentation, and yes, a simple outro is what I mainly tried. Thanx for the review man!!!

Great track

All the chords and patterns fit perfectly.
I think you did a really great job on this, it reminds me a lot of oldschool Newgrounds music from like '08.
Makes me think of cornandbeans and like Zenon+ Comet= The big guys.
Keep this up and I see you up there with them.
This is a great track for reference for me, I want to make music like this to, but I know how hard it is.

Keep it up!

stephenstripling responds:

Well if you work at it, eventually it won't be all that hard. Just keep working on it. Thanks!

Awseome!

Damn man your getting so good!
I love this track.
The intro is so epic and hard. Has got the dubstep element in it, and the bass is so crispy, excellent with the effects of a phaser? haha.

1:21-1:30 was empty, what happened there?

Anyways a great upbeat track regardless =]

Great work!

Jebbal responds:

Thanks, broskeet! That's exactly what I was going for in the intro. There's no phaser on the grindy bass, though... or is there?!

1:21 - 1:30 was included in order to offer a bit of variation and also a small break for the player. An opportunity to recollect themselves in case 1:09 caught them off guard, ya know?

Glad you enjoyed the song! and....

Thanks for the review!

uhhh...

There is no bass.
Track is nice, but there is just too much high's and treble that it's almost un-listenable...

RandomDanceOfHappy responds:

no bass haha XD what are you doing lisoning to it on ur laptop speakers?
to much treble? its 2 to 1 balanced and the mids are nearly gone shrugs
im sorry if you dont like :p
i have a link before a redid the bassbut youtube messed it up
/watch?v=zE4MNotD8rk
has more deeper bass but q droped some and less treb.

Y U NO REPLY?!

Great track as usual man. Nice driving percussion.
Your style is pretty distinct.
Samples are kind of familiar =/
But that doesn't deplete the emotion for the track. Excellent pianos ans plucked instrument.

Maybe the mastering is off, the plucks sound are pretty loud compared to the rest of the sounds.

But overall synth sidechain and FX work great with the track.
