hooray!
super glad you dig the style pal! New grounds has always been super supportive of me and my stuff. Big fan of their stuff right here!
*highfives*
Badass! Except... I have a hard time understand what contraption he's holding in his left hand.
thanks, his left or your left? :O his left is a crossbow your left is a sort of magical glove that powers his crossbow.. its a mechanic thats more explained in the game.. Im mostly just the monkey that draws you know.. :D
Kinda pervy to be honest.
What if the genders where switched? be kinda creepy then...
....hahahahahahXD!!!
If you say it like that yea, damnn...Not my intention but well, I can see your point! ^ ^
Reminds me a lot of Dave Rapoza's stuff. This looks cool though too. You should check out more of his work and I'm sure it'll make you better too ;)
Haha yeh i know Dave! :) He's really awesome. He kind of ruined these kind of speedy portrait for everyone :D Tho he once linked his 'inspiration/refs' for these kind of doodles.. which where also very sort of similar than his. Its just great, quick practice! And most of the time something fun rolls out! :D
Cheers man, merry Xmas btw! :D
Dig the detail and color amount. Really a nice and busy piece to distract from the awkward perspective, haha. I'm kidding, it might be super accurate but something just looks off. Maybe it's the desk closest to the camera. It would be much bigger.
hehe yeh i know what you mean its a little bit fisheyed to make the whole thing wider and make you feel 'smaller' in the classroom. as this scene takes places when you are a kid. ( in the game it was made fore.) but yeah i know exactly what you mean. :D
TOP NOTCH 'ol chap!
Thank youuuu! :D
Mmmmmm- Those luscious locks of hair!
Awesome lighting.
Awesome texture & detail control.
Awesome idea.
Thank you very much! :D
So is this traced or painted over top the original...?
It's hard for me to tell cause it's low res.
The values are nice and I hope you did get something out of it :)
Hello there
and thank you for having a look.
This was made with one reference photo (in colour). I used a Program called "Pure Ref" so I wouldn't be tempted to colourpick and/or trace certain parts because that would refute the purpose of the value practice.
I did however have to tweak quite a lot during and after painting, because I messed up certain parts of the first sketch and haven't been able to fix everything. So her eyes and parts of her neck still aren't exactly right but oh well, close enough. Because of that tweaking I chose to downsize the resolution, so the marks from the "liquify Filter" aren't as obvious.
But yes, I do think I did get something out of it even if it was just a bit of frustration-tolerance and the realisation that I really need to spend more time to perfect the first sketch ;)
Best wishes to you and have a wonderful day
