This is really cool to look at and it's obvious you put a lot of time into it. My only critique would be that her left arm (our right) is pretty short.

Luciaea responds:

Thanks for the tip! Much appreciated!

You've definitly got ths colors going in this one. I'd say that's my favorite part.
The main focal point is the chick but her pose is boring, aliong with the hardsh rim lighting, it hides her full figure making it really hard to see where her arms are and what she is doing. I can't tell if she is sitting or standing....or floating? Pretty much everything from the face, which has the most attention to detail, (guessing because it's the most interesting to you or you used reference) outwards the painting gets more questionable and "painterly."

zephyo responds:

thank you yeah sometimes I get a bit carried away with the face, thank you for the advice!! I will try to use it for future artworks.

huh... this is an interesting cartoon. Exaggerating parts of him that make him look less...like him. Nicely done though. I like seeing sketchy lines in a drawing. Good stuff!

The rendering is tight and the lighting is beautiful as usual, but I think the pose and composition could be stronger. That's something I can't get past, becasue i know you could've set it up with a stronger composition.

Thanks for the advice!

Wicked!
I'm diggin that dramatic lighting. Although his eye socket and ear should have some shadow within them, to really give dimension to his face.

Demp responds:

Thanks for the critique man, i will work harder on it in my future works :)

Pretty cool.
Although, everything is so tight and detailed. Makes me want to look at everything, all over the page, there's not much of a focal point. atmospheric and figuring out where everyone is standing in this space, will improve the sense of scale.

Keep it up!

Surfsideaaron responds:

thanks

Your getting better!
There still seems to be a lingering color palette withing all your character paintings, but the technique is nice.

AtTheSpeedOf responds:

Thanks!

Realy cool style.
Personally i'm not a huge fan of painting the photo exactly, but its still a great handle on realism.
Try getting in there and defining some of the shapes out with a harder bush.

Good stuff!

alagarse responds:

Thanks, I'll definitely get in there to tidy up all my paintings. I just want to finish up the ones I'm working on now while I have the time.

Nice drawing!
Did you draw it by hand with pencil then add the red paint with a textured in photoshop?
How was it done?

KarylAnne responds:

Thanks! You're 100% correct! I drew it on 2 pages of drawing paper, scanned, stitched them up together and added a dash of red to give it a little pop! I'm very glad you like it! :)

Great.

This is a very developed work. I can tell you out a lot of time into this one. Clear attention to detail, a cohesive color pallet, and very ambitious.
I'd say you achieved the "colossal" effect.
My critique is that some parts i can tell you drew, some parts look like brushes, and some parts just look like altered photos. This makes is not work as a whole piece, because it doesn't fit together. (The bottom right, the guy is drawn, against the rock that looks like a photo).

Overall, as a whole piece, it looks great, but when you look at different aspects and compare them to one another, they don't look like they were done by the same person...

This is what you call DISKARTE in my own dialect in order to cope up for lots of time making the ultra detailed textures..:)
